Everyone can use some magic in there life! It makes the mind relax and puts it to kwork! It's alsom just neat to see. As a form of entertainment it's a lot of fun. This is the time of year when paople get together. a good closenup magic show can make the time pass and is great for much needed fascination and amazment. Mrs Clause likes it a lot.

Hello, I am a street performer with magic and other illusions. I just started a few months ago but I did a lot of stuff with it as a kid. It does take up some time and I find it fun and entertaining for times when I'm alone. Which is a lot of time. It's alot more fun being the magician tan the viewer. I think what is so fascinating to me is a lot of the tricks and illusions I do are so easy to do it seems like everyone will know how it's done. But they don't! I like building my own routines and using a lot of acting and conversation that seems to make the trick a lot more interesting to your audience. I buy my material from ellusionist.com. If you don't know their site I suggest you check it out and see all they have to offer. They are the best magic website by far and have some reputable names in the world of magic working for them. Take care and stay creative, Evan Hayenga

Hello fellow artists,.. My name is Evan Hayenga. A friend and I are seeking artists who display some or all the qualities of Impressionistic art or are interested in applying this most popular art form in recent art history. The demand for this "impressionism" is going up and collectors are seeking out the artwork that is in sync with this popular movement. If you think your work fits into this artform in any way at all or maybe know someone who does. Please let them know about me and the plans we have for a group of us in the near future. Take care and stay creative, Evan Hayenga

I have been surprisingly energized and inspired to start this new series, 'Patchwork', and only weeks after moving, remodeling and setting up my new studio. (Drywall dust---YUCK!) Yes, last month I had to move all my stuff back to our home and set up shop in the basement- not ideal, I know. But it's all I have right now, and it's working out fine so far. There are currently five canvases being transformed plus this one that is now completed. Let me know what you think of this new series...

I have been loving this fall's great colors (as always) and photographing more great scenes. And I've always hated how early retail has introduced Christmas to us all, but this year I'm understanding why they do this (I mean I've always known, but now I'm a part of it!). Along with my line of Cleveland themed greeting cards, I have added two new cards to my line that are specific to Christmas in Cleveland! One is of The Old Stone Church, photographed at night from across a brightly lit Public Square. The other is of the Public Square Christmas Tree, looking up with a red Terminal Tower behind it - very dramatic if I do say so myself! I would hope you check these out, and if you would like a quantity of these, please contact me at 216-310-3359 or kurt@kurtshaffer.com - discounts are available.
And if The Galleria isn't convenient for you, I have my cards available at Embellish in Rocky River; Something Different on W.25th St.; A Class Act Resale on Mayfield Road in Murray Hill and others found on my website: www.kurtshaffer.com

I agree that many Cleveland artists are hard to find when you are looking for them and this is one of the reasons that I created this WIKI is to allow a place for information to collect so that search engines can gather a larger ranking for Cleveland artists. I also created this to allow artists that do not have a web page or cannot afford one to have a place to publish information about themselves and be picked up by a larger series of posts that will gain search engine attention and to begin to generate an internet buzz about our artistic community..
Please spread the word and add information as you choose to.
thank you for your post and information.

The two most difficult parts to machine for Surge were the head and the lower post which holds the entire statue upright. To machine the eye slots I had to employ a special attachment which I had not used in years. When I approached the lower post it was just trial and error on my metal lathe.......but I was pleased with the final outcome. I think the overal appearance and dynamic pose suggest that this is a being which is deeply involved with some kind of industrial electricity, it certainly had a factor in his creation.

This is Glyphon a machined metal statue I created in 2008. One of the first of three peices I decided to take my art public with. The statue stands aproximately 15 3/4" high. I machined and welded all the peices for him I never use found objects from the scrap yard or anywhere. Once the peices are finished they are welded together to form my unique statues. Please visit my website:http://www.bernardswiftmachinedsculptures.com/ for more pictures of my works.

Many artists in the greater cleveland area need to showcase talents to targeted audiences, I would like people to know for instance that I not only paint on canvas, but I also create murals for public and residential clients. There are many outlets for the work we create and we should work on a marketing campaign to help with the branding of our collective skills

Rita: I wanted to think you for being a guest on the A.R.T. Podcast. I think you presented some very quality information to the listeners on why they should consider having thier art work professional appraised rather than just falling back upon their insurance adjuster's point of view or going with the policy guidelines. I hope people will take a moment to listen.
I look forward to the next time we talk about what it means for the artists to have you look at their work.
Thanks again, Mark

Artist Review Today will partner with http://www.drawingday.org/ to assist with production of 1,000,000 online images in one day. The family friendly event is designed to remind participants about the simple fun of drawing!
The event will take place on June 7, 2008 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Galleria at Erieview on E 9th Street in downtown Cleveland and will be free and open to the public. Up to date information can be found on the Artist Review Today Blog at www.markquinn.net/blog7.
it is the mission of the event to remind people of the simple fun in drawing. Artist Review Today is going to take that one step farther by holding an event that will allow “ARTISTS OF ALL AGES” to:
1) Come and enjoy the City of Cleveland’s largest indoor art show with over 17,000 square feet of artwork. 2) Take part in a world wide event. 3) Draw and receive tips from noted Cleveland artists like Neal Hamilton, Kristen Boyesen, and JoseV of Cardio Art
Artist Review Today will take care of scanning and uploading images created at the event through a partnership with Photos by Q Photography. Images will be professionally scanned and uploaded to the Artist Review Today Blog located at www.markquinn.net/blog7 and broadcast the world over with the artists name right beside it!
All art supplies will be supplied by Utrechart of Coventry (http://www.utrechtart.com/ ) and participants need only to show up to take part in the event.
